The StratuxIn device is a pilot’s cockpit companion to improve situational awareness in a variety ways. Based on the open-source Stratux software project, StratuxIn is a technological “swiss army knife” packed inside a small box. Equipped with both 1090MHz and 978MHz receivers with included antennae, StratuxIn communicates with the FAA ADS-B ground-tower network and receives subscription-FREE FIS-B/Nexrad weather, TIS-B traffic in real time and displays it on your electronic flight bag software using its built-in WI-FI access connection (please contact us for a list of compatible EFBs). With a WAAS GPS, you will have GPS speed and altitude in real time bringing life to that moving airplane on your EFB on trips and on approach plates. The StratuxIn also comes equipped with an attitude heading reference system module (AHRS) which can operatate as an emergency attitude indicator in the event of a total panel failure in emergency conditions. It is powered by a micro-USB plug that can be powered off your panel’s USB port, or a USB-cigarette lighter adapter. Many pilots will power it using a USB battery pack. Now for the disclaimer: The StratuxIn is not certified for IFR flight or to replace any instruments in your airplene. It is for enhanced situational awareness use only. Once you use it see what it can do, you will never want to leave the ground without it!
Currently the FAA provides the following in-flight weather products through your StratuxIn:
